Successful Weekend
After another long week at work, this weekend is just what I needed. I started it off with a long night out with friends from work. It started like most nights at the Saucer but somehow ended at the Cowboy. I felt like I was back on the night shift trying to get home before the sun started to rise.
I woke up the next day just in time to join the guys on a trip to Mountain View for a little mountain biking. We severely underestimated how fast the sun was going down and set out on the trail around 4:45. Half an hour later as the dark was setting in, my roommate Matt blew a tire. We spent another half hour patching it then rode back out in the pitch black sharing two headlamps between four guys. To keep the trip from being a bust we headed in to town for some food and folk music on the square. The folk band on the square was made up of five guys who'd just shown up never having played together before. Yet, the banjo, guitar, bass, fidle, and madolin sounded great together. We made it back last night in time to get a good night's sleep.
This afternoon Matt and I headed a different direction in this great state to spend the day biking in Hot Springs. After a fun loop around the trail Matt had his second blow out of the weekend. Saving the day again we bailed on the biking to spend the rest of the day exploring the Hot Spring's disc golf course. I've never been prouder of scoring 18 over as I was on that course. It was beautiful up in the hills even though the course was rediculously long.
Between the time with friends, the folk music, taking the bikes out on the trails, enjoying the changing leaves, and testing out the new disc golf course, it was a successful weekend.
